Picolit D.O.C.G.

Picolit is a rare vine variety, that only grows in the soils of the "Colli Orientali del Friuli", for this reason its wine is precious, refined and exclusive.

The Picolit wine comes from a native and very ancient vine of Friuli. Its production is limited since it grows only in limited areas of the Friulian hills and part of the grapes does not reach full maturity. Given its value, has become D.O.C.G. of Friuli-Venezia Giulia since 2006 (D.O.C.G. = "Denominazione di origine controllata", i.e. "Controlled designation of origin").

Marinig' Picolit grapes are hand harvested by hand in the first decade of October, placed in small crates and laid to dry for 60 days. The wine ages 14 months in small oak barrels and 2 months in the bottle.

Picolit is a sweet white wine, with a deep golden-yellow colour, and its aroma reminiscent of honey and ripe fruits.
It tastes sweet, refined and harmonious. Since it can reach high degrees, its a sipping wine and can be paired with sweets and desserts.

Serve at 12° C.
